Do enterprise car rentals track if we crossed the borders through a tracking device ?

We are heading to North Carolina from Massachusetts. As per Enterprise , we can’t cross virginia border. If we do then their is surplus charge. I read in couple of forums that they keep a black box in the car. Do you know if this is true ?
If you any experience, can you please share. Thanks.
Chances are less that I will wreck the car. I am willing to take risk as long as they don’t charge me crossing the border.

GPS tracking keys DO exist and can be tracked in real time on the computer.

It is possible that Enterprise not only could determine where you drove the car but also the speed at which you drove it there. If the contract says you can’t go farther than Virginia, then don’t go farther than Virginia. What if you wrecked the car in NC?

as far as i know enterprise generally does not restrict how far you go or how many miles you go as long as you don’t drive to Canada or mexico.this is from my own experience renting cars from them.but if they did restrict then they could have some way of tracking it.

by the way i love enterprise.their customer service,i think,is good.
(disclaimer: i do not get paid by enterprise to say that)
